John Lee Dumas Listened To His Audience Before The Advertisers - The Podcast Industry Report Episode #102
Explicit

John Lee Dumas sees more money from products made for his audience than he does ads read to his audience.

He made more than $81,000 dollars in July of 2016 from podcast sponsor revenue, yet decided to tell Midroll he was going to do things differently starting August.

Sponsor revenue went up in August - and he KILLED THE PREROLL - but that's not the entire story.

John is more interested in growing his audience than he is growing his sponsorship revenue.

Season 3 of The Podcast Industry report is all about leadership. John Lee Dumas is a leader in our industry and has a lot to teach us.

Podcasters LOVE numbers. Downloads and subscribers and growth projections and streams and more have some for some, more important than the actual audience the Podcast was originally created for.
